BRIGHT EYES w/ Gillian Welch @ Town Hall – 5/25 – 6/1

Oberst and friends will be in town for a stunning week long run starting this Friday. What is more interesting, though, are his “very special guests” that will be joining him onstage throughout the week. We’re not going to spoil it for you, but some of the biggest names in rock, country, college and underground music will be up there with Conor. Even a casual fan of theirs will get a kick out of this marathon, but undoubtedly there are the hardcore fans that will buy tickets to every single show to see what the surprises are each night. We would tell you, but that would ruin all the fun.

Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins 10/13 @ Town Hall

Rilo Kiley front woman and general all-around indie sweetheart Jenny Lewis released her side project on Team Love, Conor Oberst’s label of Bright Eyes fame. And while not making cameo appearances on various television show, she also tours behind her new record, Rabbit Fur Coat, and now is the chance you have to catch her live act. With the enlisted help of twin sisters, Chandra and Leigh Watson, the chanteuse Lewis creates lovely folk pop melodies. While it certainly takes from Rilo Kiley, this side project is much more singer-songwriter focused and minimal. So if you are a fan of Rilo Kiley or Jenny Lewis or, hey, even the Watson Twins, this show is for you.
